This last photo is probably the only one that needs explanation.
You may be wondering…
Are those birds?
Are those planes?
No…
They are Lesley’s men…
…flinging themselves out of a plane at 13,000 feet.
Back to regularly-scheduled programming from now on…please.

Lesley, I am sitting in my 400-year-old Cotswolds cottage lingering over a late breakfast of coffee, muesli and chocolate croissants and listening to the BBC, preparing to haul my own young menfolk out for a country stroll and picnic…
…but I wanted to say that even in this idyllic situation, I have been rendered a bit homesick (for the first time in nearly three weeks) by your glorious photos of rural American summer. I even have that same duvet cover!
Thank you for the loveliness, and I am glad that the daredevils are safe and sound (bless you)!

Beautiful days of slowing down and really enjoying simple ways. We dress very similar and I believe live similar days just in different settings…yours country, mine coastal valley.

Oh my! Said in response to your comment about your parachuters! 🙂 Adventure-men!
Wonderful photos…as usual. You do have a way with a camera…setting up beautiful shots. Very restful.
Glad they landed safely, and that you have some wonderful Miss Read’s to dig into.
Take care, sweet one.

I honestly could not decide which was my favorite photo…all so enchantingly summertime!
My eldest son parachuted from an airplane back when he was in college (must be one of those male rite of passage things) I was not there to witness it, however. I can’t quite make up my mind which is better.
