It is very quiet here…my sons won’t be home for another week atleast, my deario is often away at gigs, my sweet mom is very quiet and rather confused these days…but there is more time than usual to tend to the little things…like a new cover for my notebook. New for my notebook, but more than a hundred years old…
And every day I perch on the sofa in the little, sunny sitting room with my basket next to me while Mom breakfasts…and make my lists…and check them twice…
It is a blessing that I can be happy at home, day after quiet day…but I must admit that one of the happiest sounds I hear is the little “ping” of a new email in my inbox from the computer in kitchen corner. Comments so brighten my day, and I love to follow some to new places I’ve never been before and some to familiar haunts. Perhaps if you read here and are enjoying my Advent posts and haven’t said hello yet…you might do so in the days to come? Thinking about it, opening comments has the same quality of expectation that the opening of Advent doors does…
Who knows who is writing…what they will have to say…what new place I may discover?

I was actually not intending to leave a comment today, as I didn’t want to talk too often in your combox 🙂 But I agree with you so much about the small, sweet happiness of comments, so here I am with a wave and hug for your day.
I love the new banner. It’s perfect for the season.

Enjoying your quiet thoughts and the nostalgia of your new cover. It reminds me of my mother who was an elementary teacher for most of her adult life and loved teaching poetry to her pupils.

I love the ping of comments, too, Lesley, and love the quiet picture you painted. Have a lovely Advent!

First, your new blog banner delicately captures the season for me. I too am so happy to remain home…in the quiet. I do not hear when I receive comments…but I am always happy to receive them when I check. Lovely days ahead. I am trying to embrace each one.

Like you, Lesley, I feel blessed to be happy at home…and enjoy a comment or e-mail that brings the outside world in. (Mine doesn’t ping, though. I’ve always wished it did.) So sweet of you to link to me. I’m so enjoying the solitude of Advent…and sharing its moments with you.
