the view from the car window as I left
for town this morning
for town this morning
cold, busy day
cold in my head and early to bed
and as I lay in bed, I think
about our mockingbird in the bare
dogwood tree this morning
and think about his song that takes
us sweetly through the days and
nights of the warm seasons
and wonder where he is
at nine o’clock on a frigid winter
night?
“God bless the little things this Christmastide,
all the little wild things that live outside;
little cold robins & rabbits in the snow
Give them good faring &
a warm place to go”
all the little wild things that live outside;
little cold robins & rabbits in the snow
Give them good faring &
a warm place to go”

This made me think of that verse in the Bible that says God knows about every little sparrow that might fall to the ground.
Love that blue sky in your picture! Hope you feel better.

I hope you take care of yourself and soon feel better.

That was my all time favorite Christmas card you did a while back. Thank you for that. Such a sweet sentiment.
Wishing you hot tea with lemon, warm socks, hot soup, a toasty fire and a good book for your head cold. Here is a book/author prescription for your cold:
Thirty-nine Steps by John Buchan
Any book by Elizabeth Goudge…(The Middle Window is my favorite)
Love,
Julie

So sorry you are feeling poorly. What a sweet little poem! During our Thanksgiving week snow, I fretted so about our little birds. A very watchful eye was kept on our feeders.

Tuck in with a cup of tea, rest quietly, and birdsong shall lull you to sleep. Be well…

I love the poem and pictures. I too wonder how the little ones make out when it is so cold.
Thank you for sharing.
