From the very beginning (Small Meadow Press!) the heart of my work was the hope that we paper-loving women would consider the earth more often in our journaling, correspondence and other papery pursuits. I really don’t know if I’ve had much influence, but it was on my mind to end my making-days with something that would help. So I’ve gathered together everything I could, to encourage and share all of the ways that I’ve found to spend happy papery hours in gentler-to-the-earth ways…

Papery Days Box

Includes:

~A packet of antique pages, illustrations and text, approx. 50

~Coccoina Paste (all-natural, almond scented, with its own little brush)

~Three rolls of all-natural washi tape (made traditionally in Japan, from shrub cuttings, most washi these days is plastic)

~A packet of book rings, and little notebook-making bits, envelopes, ingredients that I use to make my favorite handmade notebooks

~Fabric ribbon, vintage seam binding and rick-rack, examples of the non-plastic alternatives to regular ribbon

~The last of my “misprints” with images to cut and paste with, and some modern images from a Flow book I took apart (approx. 20)

~Two vintage copper “findings” from my collection (now hard to find but sweet to work with)

~Walnut ink crystals to make my favorite brown ink

~Samples of tree-free and handmade papers (just one of each as I am getting low on my stores of them, but I will share information on where to buy more if you are interested)

Eventually (in the next few months) I will create a little film for you, sharing all of the ways I use these ingredients, my many handmade notebooks and anything else that might inspire you in this gentle, earth-conscious, trash-free way of enjoying your papery days.

Some photos with examples of how I like to use my Papery Days ingredients. I hope they inspire you…

A little film coming sometime soonish…
