Each year, it is different.

Last night, my youngest son came home in time to place the pictures, pick flowers and gather leaves with me. His company soothed some of the strangeness of my mom‘s photo being amongst the dear ones for the first time.

I gathered a bouquet of leaves as I walked this morning and left them at the piano altar when I came inside. Perhaps I will add one, now and then, to the sprinkling already there…as I remember. Perhaps they will stay in in their autumnal posy.

Whatever the heart and souls need on this day.

And so, Autumn deepens….
