When I was at Doug’s mom yesterday, MSNow was on (as always : / ) and there was film of the clergy folk being arrested, on their knees, hands behind their backs. I couldn’t get the details, but when I mentioned this to Doug, he wondered if we would have even seen this on PBS news? And I don’t know. We haven’t been watching it regularly, not wanting news with supper. We also talked about subscribing for the foreseeable future to a few paid news publications…the Atlantic and the Guardian. Currently, we listen to NPR for awhile in the morning and late afternoon. I am curating my Substack (Notes has become my Instagram, sort of) to include some thoughtful women who talk about current events in their posts. And Heather Cox Richardson and Jess Craven, there, have been my daily reads since early last year. This is probably enough, tho’ I do wish I had a non-cable channel like MSNow to check in briefly with and keep abreast of unfolding stories. My next layer is confining all of my news gathering to specific times of day, whenever possible, and add in a lot more nerve-calming sessions to balance. Off to do that now. xo
