🍂 Hello dear reader...
I'm sitting by our first fire, sending out this letter to you with my most-likely last papery offering. In the last several months, the desire to be sitting long hours in front of the computer, designing and printing, has left me completely. I love having more time in my day for the garden, my home, my dear ones and quiet hours with notebooks and inner journeys. But I've had one last project that I've been slowly working on, and in this week when I am on a break from posting at Wisteria & Sunshine, I've been able to get it all finished and ready to share...

I'm calling it the Papery Days Box, and in it, I've collected all the gentle-on-the-earth ingredients I use (except a good pair of scissors : ) in my beloved hours with paper and ink and solitude. Especially lately, those hours have been deeply fruitful, in both practical and soulful ways. How glad I am that the cosy, more inward months are here! They are just right for centering pleasure of papery adventures . I began sinking into them as soon as I turned the calendar page to November...

You may read all about the box and enjoy a great many more photos here. There are only 19 on offer, so please don't wait too long if you are interested. Transitioning to earth-thoughtful ways with our notebooks and papery systems of all kinds really isn't very hard. And its rewarding and satisfying...no trash...no plastic...just your own unique vessels and approaches to tending your life that you create, often with what you already have.

Apart from these studio puttings-together, I've been lavishing attention on my home in recent weeks, changing out all of the summer linens, curtains and sofa coverings for their thicker, warmer versions...stitching pillow covers...switching out pictures and paintings...stocking up my herbal cupboard...preparing the setting for what I'm calling my winter story. It is a setting that is supporting me even more deeply than my home usually does. So much feels rich and hopeful to me just now, on this threshold of winter...everything I have some control over, that is...in the small worlds I create with my hands and heart...and paper and paste.

As soon as I can, I'll be making a companion film sharing all of the ways I use the Papery Days Box ingredients...my many handmade notebooks, my studio and anything else that may inspire you in this gentle, earth-conscious, trash-free way of enjoying your own papery days. In the meantime, if you'd like to see more (especially the handmade, papery systems I use to keep my rhythms and tasks humming steadily along) I've shared so much about this over the years at Wisteria & Sunshine. We even have a category called Papery Days. We'll be focusing on all of our winter stories there the rest of this month, including preparing for a more peaceful December. The door is always open to you...
