A short note on this day as the rain falls very gently down. A day when I woke up early and felt the pull to be upstairs, at my desk, and sort a few things out, with pencil and paper. Our wren was singing from the top of the stovepipe that I could see across the kitchen rooftop, a joyous song accompanied by the patter of raindrops...

I wrote a post at Wisteria & Sunshine recently titled "Clearing & Clarity~home adventures." The clearing and clarity continue to ripple out in ways beyond my homemaking, and this morning, they had to do with my livelihood. And I realized-rather suddenly-that I need to raise the prices for what I create. I am always reluctant to do so, knowing that most of my women (do you mind me calling you that? Customers or followers doesn't feel right) don't have deep pockets. But nor do I, and I find I am quite willing to pay for what I truly value in my days. And the truth is, life just keeps getting more and more expensive, sometimes lately it seems, by the day.

So, I am sending this note today to let you know, since I value you as a newsletter subscriber, that I will be raising the membership prices for Wisteria & Sunshine come Sunday morning. Until then, you will be able to become a member for the price I've offered since 2017. I was surprised to find that it has been that long since I've raised them!

And somehow, that decision has opened up the door to ideas for the "new year" that I always feel early September to be, after months of very few fresh ideas coming to me. I never want Wisteria & Sunshine to become a place of courses and classes, but am beginning to "see" some sweet, small studies around favorite topics and everyday challenges and a new monthly rhythm that will help us to deepen into the seasons...ours and the earth's. More mornings at my upstairs desk will bring it all into being as August unfolds...

This last photo is from the herb farm I traveled to last month. I learned so much from my time away, one thing being I need more wild, pink roses in my life! I'll be working on that, and on bringing in more simplicity, plenitude...and peace. I wish all of that and more for you in August and beyond, and am here to welcome you into the sheltered retreat that is Wisteria & Sunshine, if you are sensing that now is the time to join. And how grateful am I for all of you who have already joined me there...fourteen years and counting...
