Everywhen.

A new word for me. When I discovered it this morning, tho’, I recognized it as my experience. “The eternal present” is much more real to me these days than linear time, which only seems more and more difficult to grasp (or work with!). Ten days ago, an altar was created for a friend across the world. There was nothing flowery in our still snow-skimmed world to add to the seeds and nest to evoke the coming of Spring, but I hoped that Mrs. Thaw might get to work with her broom in my friend’s world and my own…

Then we left for the North and found ourselves in a patchwork of snow-piled up grey and wind-blown white, warmth-from friends and family, barley-borne tastings slipping down our throats and fires and light of all sorts…even moments of coats-off, faces turned-up, sun-sitting…

Home again to crocus popping, speedwell spreading, peepers peeping. Mrs. Thaw has not been idle, yet cold returns tonight.

Life is a whirl, a jumble, a blur…but only when I try to contain it in the usual ways. If I leave my expectations behind, not even measuring in flowers, snow or whether the doors can be open or closed, it feels just fine.

Now if only I can find the key to living in Everywhen and still accomplishing, creating and experiencing all that beckons…
