March 2012

ebb and flow

After a week of blue skies and warmth and open doors and windows, we have a day of gentle rain and damp and closed doors and an open fire in the fireplace. I’ve pulled the chair up close and am so grateful for the utter peace here at the moment….deario away at an Irish festival gig…sweet mom in the care of a dear lady for the weekend…youngest son home for a day or two, but still asleep upstairs…hens fed…some dishes washed…time to just be quiet and thoughtful.
I’ve been wanting to come here and tell you what I’ve been thinking about this space. It seems to get quieter and quieter in the comments, even tho’ I am posting in my usual-random-every few weeks-sort of way. And to be honest, I am doing so much writing at Wisteria & Sunshine, and we have such rich discussion in its sheltered rooms (tho’ it ebbs and flows there, as well, as is the way of things), that I haven’t the…….knack to pull my attention from the flow there to figure out what to put here…The Bower is definitely in ebb tide just now. Tho’ the wonderful thing is that all that this place has been about is flowing on at W&S in a much more deep and full way than could be here…
So I am content. But next month will be my sixth anniversary here, and that is a no small thing. Nor do I want to let go of The Bower and my connection to those who visit here (but am so privileged to have many in our Wisteria & Sunshine membership)…so I am imagining a new pattern for posting here. It will take the hard part away for me (figuring out what to write and share) and keep the joyful parts (sharing photos and little glimpses of what I am thinking and doing…which I realize is what I love best about all the blogs I spend time with).
Next time I post, I will use the pattern of The Simple Woman’s Daybook, created by Peggy Hostetler…having really enjoyed reading other Daybook posts that I have come across…and loving the simplicity and beauty of the “sweet mundane”.
FOR TODAY

Outside my window…

I am thinking…

I am thankful…

In the kitchen…

I am wearing…

I am creating…

I am going…

I am wondering…

I am reading…

I am hoping…

I am looking forward to…

I am learning

Around the house…

I am pondering…

A favorite quote for today…

One of my favorite things…

A few plans for the rest of the week:

A peek into my day…

 See you soon!
